VIPER (UNDER DEVELOPMENT)
40/50 REMOTE WEAPON STATION
The Viper 40/50 Remote Weapon Station (RWS) is a light weight, stabilized dual gun system suitable for installation onboard small, fast patrol boats engaged in border control, maritime traffic interdiction or on larger vessel as secondary (or auxiliary) armaments for perimeter protection.
The on-mount integrated armaments consists of a 12.7mm Machine Gun and a 40mm Automatic Grenade Launcher capable of firing air-bursting ammunition.
This unique dual-gun naval weapon system also comprises of an off-mount light-weight, servo assisted Optronic Director (OD). The built-in day light TV camera (DLTV), IR imaging camera and Laser Range Finder modules within the OD enable it to perform surveillance, detection, recognition and tracking operations effectively during day and night operations.
Additionally, the off-mount location of the OD allows the Line of Fire (LOF) of the 40/50 RWS to be independent from the Line of Sight (LOS) of the OD such that the operator is able to keep track of the target whilst simultaneously engaging it with the on-mount indirect fire 40mm Automatic Grenade Launcher.
With an expandable architecture based on a modular design approach, the Viper 40/50 RWS allows for ease of augmentation of newer and better technologies for future growth.
